For artwork buyers
Purchase & Pickup Terms
These terms apply when a visitor buys artwork from a Wallspace exhibition for immediate in-person pickup at the venue. Dysfunctional Co, LLC (“Wallspace”) operates the service.

1. The purchase
You buy the artwork from the artist identified as seller at checkout and on your receipt. The checkout page identifies the artwork, artist, current price, pickup venue, tax, and total. Wallspace is the artist’s limited sales and payment-collection agent and a marketplace facilitator. Wallspace operates checkout, collects your payment on the artist’s behalf, collects and remits applicable sales tax, and handles transaction support. The artist is responsible for title, authenticity, and supplying the physical artwork. Stripe processes the payment through Wallspace’s platform payment account.
Payment to Wallspace satisfies your payment obligation to the artist to the extent paid. Wallspace does not own the artwork or sell it in its own name. Its role as the platform payment merchant for Stripe processing does not change the artist’s identity as your seller or Wallspace’s refund and payment responsibilities stated in these terms.
An order is confirmed only after successful payment and final availability checks. A work may become unavailable before confirmation. Wallspace may cancel and refund an order affected by duplicate sale, material listing error, damage, fraud review, or other inability to complete the handoff. If you paid but cannot receive the artwork because it is missing, stolen or damaged before handover, contact support promptly; once Wallspace verifies that it cannot be provided, Wallspace will refund your purchase.
2. Pickup only
Before starting or resuming checkout, you confirm that you are at the displayed venue, the selected artwork is physically present, and you intend to collect it now. It will not be shipped. This is your declaration, not independent location verification by Wallspace.
After payment confirmation, you may safely remove the identified artwork and take it with you without staff approval. If you would like help, ask venue staff for assistance; staff availability is not guaranteed. Follow practical safety and access instructions. Wallspace never takes physical custody of the work.
Keep your receipt as proof of payment. It does not record or prove physical collection. No venue confirmation, pickup code, or collection scan is required. Do not remove any work until payment is confirmed. If the artwork is missing, unsafe to remove, or you cannot complete pickup, contact Wallspace support immediately; no shipping, delivery, or storage service is promised.
3. Inspection, title, and risk
Inspect the artwork at the venue before paying and collecting it. Report a material mismatch, visible damage, or inability to collect the identified work before removing it. Title to the physical artwork passes directly from the artist to you, and risk of loss passes to you, when you physically collect it, including through self-service removal, not merely when checkout opens or payment is submitted.
4. Change-of-mind returns
Completed sales are final for a change of mind. Inspect the artwork in person and accept its displayed condition before purchasing. Wallspace offers no discretionary returns or exchanges.
Nothing in these terms limits rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be waived.
5. Physical object, not copyright
Your purchase transfers the physical artwork only. Copyright, reproduction, merchandising, publicity, and other intellectual-property rights remain with the artist unless a separate written license says otherwise.
6. Price, tax, and payment issues
An email address is required in checkout for your receipt and transaction support; no Wallspace buyer account or phone number is required. The relevant artist and venue may privately view your buyer email and receipt reference for that purchase and support, not marketing. An email delay does not undo a confirmed payment; save the receipt shown on your phone.
The confirmed checkout total controls the purchase. Later public price changes do not change a completed order. Applicable sales tax is shown separately. If Wallspace cancels or a refund is required, it will ordinarily be returned to the original payment method; bank and processor timing may vary.
You authorize Wallspace and Stripe to process the payment, fraud checks, refund, dispute, and transaction communications needed for the purchase. Do not submit a duplicate checkout if the first payment is still processing; contact support instead.
7. Venue and artist roles
The artist is responsible for title, authenticity, and accurate artwork information. The venue provides the physical display and pickup location. Venue staff cannot change these terms, promise a refund, or make a separate warranty unless Wallspace confirms it in writing.
